Medley Advertising Guidelines
General procedures that must be followed across our Network of Publisher sites

The imitation of our Network of Publisher sites is not allowed:
- The banner must not appear to resemble a part of our Network of Publisher sites (colors, thumb sizes, template, layout, deceptive designs, website elements, etc.).
- The banner must not look like a website element.
- Campaign banners or landing pages that infringe on Intellectual Property, Copyright, Patent, and Trademark laws will be paused.

Any Ads that are deceptive or misleading will not be approved; specifically but not limited to:
- The banner's context and concept must be related to the landing page.
- The banner must have branding / logo / text.
- The banner must not have page numbers, time, player bar, or views.
- The banner must not have any negative buttons. Only one affirmative button is allowed. Negative buttons may include the text "no", "close", "stop", or in any way appear to terminate the ad. If these terminologies appear on the Ad, they must do what they mean, ex. close, stop or No - should not bring the surfer to the site.
- The banner if animated not use flashing colors that have a high contrast from the site. (For example, an electric blue background with yellow text and red borders).
- Mouse-over animation is allowed in non-animation zones; the additional data above 300KB must be downloadable only upon mouse-over.
- All ads must link to a new window. All links must be target="_blank".
- Exit blockers are not permitted.
- Sites that promote products that enable users to download are not permitted.
- Distribution of malicious JavaScript is not permitted. Campaigns will be terminated, advertisers will be banned, and refund requests will be invalid.
- A surfer must be able to opt out of additional offers in any subscription to a product.
- iFrames are not permitted.
- Medley has the right to pause any banners that affect our Network of Publisher sites in a matter that we deem negative with no prior notice.
- The visual representations of sexual activity by persons (real or imaginary) under the age of 18 years (i.e. shows a person who is or is depicted as being under the age of eighteen years and is engaged in or is depicted as engaged in explicit sexual activity) is prohibited.

Young Model or Imitation of Underage Person:
- Ads, landing pages, and member's area must be 2257 compliant.
- Valid 2257s and ID must be provided upon request for models and actors/actresses. Medley has the right to refuse a banner regardless of 2257s and ID provided if we still feel it negatively affects the user experience across our Network of Publisher sites.
- Child pornography is prohibited. The law and The Criminal Code define Child Pornography as:
- "a photographic, film, video or other visual representation, whether or not it was made by electronic or mechanical means,
- that shows a person who is or is depicted as being under the age of eighteen years and is engaged in or is depicted as engaged in explicit sexual activity, or
- the dominant characteristic of which is the depiction, for a sexual purpose, of a sexual organ or the anal region of a person under the age of eighteen years;
- any written material, visual representation or audio recording that advocates or counsels sexual activity with a person under the age of eighteen years that would be an offence under this Act;
- any written material whose dominant characteristic is the description, for a sexual purpose, of sexual activity with a person under the age of eighteen years that would be an offence under this Act; or
- any audio recording that has as its dominant characteristic the description, presentation or representation, for a sexual purpose, of sexual activity with a person under the age of eighteen years that would be an offence under this Act."

Pharmaceuticals:
- Banner advertisements may have branded pharmaceutical names (ex. "Viagra", "Cialis") & resemble the branded pill's shape, however, there must be the word *Generic* or phrase *Better than Viagra* or *Just like Viagra* visibly stated on the banner.
- Landing Pages must have the phrase "Consult your doctor."

Cartoon Ads:
- No underage characters (ex. underage or young Bart, Little Lisa Simpson, Baby Maggie etc.). Characters must be aged.
- No incest; for example between brothers and sisters or parents and children.
- No beastiality.

Facebook:
- Use of the term "Facebook" is not permitted
- Any imitation of the "Facebook" website or brand (color scheme, logo, and text) is not permitted.

Substances:
- Promotion of alcohol and drugs is not allowed.
- Images of alcohol and drugs are not allowed.

Acts:
- No Extreme Violence
- No Abuse
- No Incest
- No
- No Drugs
- No Torture
- No Blood
- No Crying
- No Scatophilia
- No Urination
- No Beastiality

Other:
- Medical-style anatomical cutaway/cross section images of males and/or a penis is not permitted (i.e. No cross-section or skinless pictures of penis).

Top Right Square:
- Acceptable formats: Jpeg, Gif (Animation is permitted, Time interval for image changing must be > 2 seconds), Video Ads (Time interval for Text, Play buttons etc. changing must be > 2 seconds)
- Maximum file size: 50kB

- Acceptable Creative formats: Jpeg - Static images only; animation is not permitted.
- Maximum file size: 50kB
- Exit blockers are forbidden

- Acceptable Creative formats: Jpeg - Static images only; animation is not permitted
- Maximum file size: 50kB
- Exit blockers are forbidden
